All Dressed In White

Oh life has gotten busy lately! I've been back and forth between Utah (where I will be spending the next five years) and Idaho- Home. Sorting out college/ work/ housing- PHEW!

And even when I'm home it seems rather crazy here as well! I recently started working at the Historical Ballroom in Twin Falls and I absolutely adore it!

The ballroom itself is gorgeous built in the early 1900's and it's history is rich! It has been a ballroom, library, store, and much more before becoming what it is now- a wedding and event center. 

The building is beautiful and I love working weddings there! The intricate details of  the set up, including fancy napkin folding have me in love- and even the mopping and clean up after the weddings is fun. Every time I work I feel as if I could be in another time!

Oooh- also the building is supposedly haunted with a woman from the 1920's! I would just love to meet her, but for now I will simply have to be content with flashing lights and opening and closing doors. 

I also have recently had the opportunity to take one of my closest friends senior pictures. They turned out absolutely perfect, and maybe someday I will post some of those pictures  here. I love photography, and perhaps in college will work part time as a photographer when needed to capture events for college students. It would work perfectly for everyone! And inexpensive photographer with high quality results!

Secret Garden

Another summer day of adventures. Today we decided to take a little trip to town and visit one of our favorite thrift stores and a new thrift store in the area. Our favorite little shop has one of the sweetest workers! She always recognizes us and says hello. Because we've  been going since Birdy was just a tiny baby, this sweet little employer has always loved her and calls her the pink baby. I love it because they always have the sweetest little vintage treasures and the prices are incredible. 

The new store was very interesting. It is kind of like a thrift store / estate sale mixture, and the owners go around and purchase items from estate sales that are about to close. They then bring them to their shop and sell them. They have some of the most interesting old furniture and looking at the old phone and camera collections was extremely interesting! 

I love this photobook, but unfortunately it wasn't for sale. I can't help but wonder who this sweet little family was, and what their story is. Also the children are simply precious! Their hair and clothing is so sweet.

I Feel So Blue Thinking About You

This hat is simply gorgeous! I found it at a thrift store and it was only $.50. For that price I couldn't go wrong.

This blog post is basically how I am feeling right now. Thinking about one person makes me so sad, because right now I feel so hurt. I'm trying to forgive and forget, but the process is hard, especially when the other person won't even talk to you or acknowledge you in any way.

Moving on to way, way, WAY happier things, I asked a boy to Sadie's ( our high school's girls choice dance)  and it all ended up being so cute and fun! I wanted to ask in a cute and fun way that was completely me, and I ended up doing it like this. In 3rd, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th period I sent him a little treat from the office, but he didn't actually know that it was me doing it. The first was a lolli pop that said "Will". The second was some fizz soda candies that said "You". The third was another Lolli pop that said "Go", the fourth was a pack of tootsipops that said "To", the fifth was a old fashioned soda pop that was cherry lime flavored and said "Sadies", and the last was an old fashioned soda pop bottle that was filled with pretzel M&M's and said "With...". 

Then, last period my friends Sydney, Kaylee, and Leslie went into English and sang lolli pop to him dressed up like girls from the fifties! At the end of the song we flipped the lollipops around and they spelled my name. It ended up being so cute and so many people told me that we sounded great! :) He totally got into it to, and was saying things like "I'm her lolli pop" and "Heck Yeah!" 

I just really hope that he replies in a cute way!

I should have been a WAF

Isn't this little outfit darling! It was the first time that I was able to wear my new hat and I absolutely love how the outfit turned out. Even though it is monochromatic it still looks so rich and put together. 

I love how 1940's The outfit all looked together. Also- Aren't these shoes the MOST darling shoes you have ever seen?! I found them at a thrift store while in Utah, and I couldn't wait to wear them. They are made out of an almost men's suit type material and the bow is so irresistibly cute!

And isn't this hat even more charming on!

Pinch Me!

Someone please pinch me because I must be dreaming! Today I went thrift store shopping with my family and some family friends, and I cannot believe what I found. Am on cloud nine feeling so happy and thankful. Well enough talking- let my finds speak for themselves...

First off I found this darling vintage evening purse. It is a shimmery gold and has small pearls sewn into the top. The clasp and chain are also gold... and it was only $1!

Next are these two gorgeous petticoats! They are both vintage beauties, and are in perfect condition! I have another which is slightly puffier, but I only wear it on special occasions because of how fragile it is. These two will be put to good use! The one above is fuller and more crisp, which will make for the perfect petticoat to twirl in. The one below is also full, but less poofy. The lace trim is simply precious, and I am sure this will become a staple of my wardrobe. The petticoats were only $2.75 each. WHAT! Yes, I wrote that correctly! For $5.50 I bought two vintage petticoats while a  petticoat at Modcloth ranges from $52.99 to $59.99 (and that isn't even talking about the pricing of a vintage petticoat at Modcloth) !

And these are the find of the day. A almost fainted when I saw these! They are so gorgeous, and in perfect condition. When I saw them in the glass case I began frantically motioning, and I was so impatient to get them that I was considering breaking the glass!! They are gorgeous,fit perfectly, and I am so in love that I could go on and on!

When I saw the price for these beauties I swore that I must be seeing things! They must have been priced incorrectly! But no, my eyes were not playing tricks on me. Each of the hats was marked only $1. I was so happy, and as soon as the associate handed them to me I clutched them to my chest and didn't even want to let go so they could be purchased! 

I am sooo happy! For $8.50 I got a vintage purse, two vintage petticoats, and two vintage hats. 

That is a dream come true if I ever saw one!
